Pedestrian killed in vehicle crash on South John Young Parkway

All lanes of the roadway officially reopened by 2:27 p.m. following the completion of the initial response

ORLANDO, Fla. — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Sept. 15, along South John Young Parkway in Orlando.

All lanes of the roadway have since reopened following the crash.

Officers with the Orlando Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 6:50 a.m. near Columbia Street and L B McLeod Road. The incident initially forced authorities to close all northbound and southbound lanes of John Young Parkway between L B McLeod Road and Columbia Street.

Florida 511 traffic monitoring logged the incident along S.R. 423 near Columbia Street, warning drivers of major delays and urging motorists to move over or slow down for Road Rangers.

The Orlando Police Department announced at 2:27 p.m. that all lanes of the roadway had been reopened.

Police noted that the case is an active investigation and that no further information is available.
