LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A crash involving a car and a garbage truck Thursday morning left a woman and a dog dead in Lake County, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
The car was northbound on County Road 437 when it went into the southbound lane and struck the garbage truck head-on, troopers said.

The driver of the car was killed, along with a dog in the car.
Troopers said neither the driver of the truck, Jason Gray, 32, nor his passenger, Michael Dodson, 48, were injured. Both Gray and Dodson are from Mount Dora.
Troopers have not released the name of the Eustis woman killed in the crash.
