PALM COAST, Fla. — Two Palm Coast homeowners are cleaning up from fire on New Year’s Day.

Firefighters responded around 9:03 p.m. to a dryer fire in a home’s garage.

They found heavy smoke and an active fire in the laundry room.

Firefighters also were called to another residence around 10:27 p.m. after someone did not properly dispose of a firework.
Firefighters did not say whether anyone was hurt in either fire.
