Florida Cable customers lose WFTV, WRDQ programming

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Cable Subscribers should no longer be receiving WFTV and WRDQ through their cable service. If you are receiving ABC programming, we would like to hear from you! Click here to email WFTV.

Florida Cable has a contractual obligation with Channel 9 and its parent company, Cox Media Group, but it has not lived up to the terms of that agreement, resulting in the loss of Eyewitness News and your favorite network programming.

What is the dispute with Florida Cable about?

Almost three years ago, Channel 9's parent company, Cox Media Group, reached an agreement with Florida Cable to carry WFTV and WRDQ.

Unfortunately, Florida Cable has refused to live up to the terms of that agreement, resulting in the loss of Eyewitness News and your favorite network programming.

Channel 9 and CMG has spent months hoping to resolve the issue with Florida Cable to no avail.

If WFTV and WRDQ are no longer carried on Florida Cable, can viewers still access them?

After Thursday, most viewers will be able to receive WFTV and WRDQ in HD for free by using a HD antenna.

Watch Eyewitness News live on WFTV.com and on the News, Weather and Alarm Clock apps, available for free in the app store.

In addition, viewers will continue to be able to receive WFTV and WRDQ from DirecTV, Dish Network, and essentially all other local cable operators.
