Florida reports 10 million people vaccinated against COVID-19

ORLANDO, Fla. — More than 10 million people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in Florida, according to state health officials.

The Florida Department of Health reported Sunday that 10,005,987 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in the state.

Including single and two-dose shots, 17,228,463 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered.

State health officials also reported 2,069 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

This is less than the 3,406 cases reported Saturday and 2,371 added Friday.

Of the new cases reported, 401 were in Central Florida.

State records show a total of 2,310,335 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

Health officials also reported 13 virus-related deaths Sunday, including two people who were not Florida residents.

Of the new deaths reported, two were in Central Florida. Orange County and Brevard County each reported one new death since Saturday.

Records show 37,207 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the state.
