Man dies after being rescued from Titusville beach

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A man died Saturday afternoon after drowning at Playa Linda Beach.

Witnesses said a Good Samaritan pulled the man out of the water and then ran for help.

That's when others at the beach, including a nursing graduate student, came to his aid.

Witnesses said his fiancé was stuck in the water, so he went out to get her but he never came back.

"To my understanding, he had a pulse and was breathing when he first came out, but by the time I got over there, he wasn't breathing and had no pulse, so we started CPR and did the best we could," said Angela Brown, a nursing graduate student.

Emergency rescue crews transported the man to Parrish Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials said the man was in his early 30s, but his name was not released.
