Hairdos and brews: First responders can get a free haircut and beer this weekend in Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Businesses are teaming up this weekend to thank first responders have worked tirelessly to keep people safe during the pandemic with a free haircut and a beer.

Floyd’s Barbershop and The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park have teamed up for hairdos and brews. On Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., firefighters, police officers and health care workers can check into The Ravenous Pig’s beer garden, 565 W Fairbanks Ave.

“Now that we are back up and running, I feel like it was important to give back to the people who, during our quarantine, were out there and having to be out there every day protecting us on the front lines,” said James Petrakis, owner of The Ravenous Pig.

Owners of both businesses said it’s also a thank you for their help to get them back open.

“In times like this, we are not only happy, but we are grateful to provide to our community and first responders,” said Kyle Sleeth, owner of Floyd’s Barbershop. “I’m sure a lot of them could use a haircut, and it’s hard to say no to a cold beer on a warm day.”

First responders who show up must present their badge or ID to get their free haircut and beer.
