DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Halifax Health will host its sixth annual Lowell Lohman Thriving with Diabetes Community Expo on Friday, Nov. 13, at Daytona State College.

The free event is designed for people living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, along with their families and caregivers.

The expo will open at 8 a.m., with the conference running from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mori Hosseini Center.

Organizers said attendees can hear from diabetes experts, participate in interactive sessions and visit nearly 20 healthcare and community exhibitors.

The event will also feature a live cooking demonstration from Chef Costa Magoulis focused on preparing healthy meals while managing diabetes.

Kyle Banks, founder and CEO of Kyler Cares, will serve as the keynote speaker. Banks was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes while performing in Broadway’s The Lion King.
