DeSantis announces Job Growth Grant Fund award for local infrastructure project

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a Job Growth Grant Fund award for a local infrastructure project in Sumter County on Monday morning.

DeSantis said the $6 million to Sumter County to expand the road that serves the Governor Rick Scott industrial park from a two lane road to a four lane road.


The governor said the project will alleviate bottlenecks that have developed in the area.

The project is expected to create about 5,000 direct jobs and almost 2,000 indirect jobs, DeSantis said.

The governor was joined by Department of Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran, Senate President Wilton Simpson and Department of Transportation Secretary Kevin Thibault.
