OCALA, Fla. — An Ocala man kidnapped a woman at gunpoint because her boyfriend owed him $2,000 in drug money, police said.
Ocala police said Devin Jackson, 21, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of armed kidnapping after the woman texted her family during the alleged abduction.
According to officials, Jackson entered the woman's apartment looking for her boyfriend, who left through the back door.
Jackson told the woman she had to come with him to look for her boyfriend, police said.
Police said the woman texted her family while Jackson drove her around with a gun on his lap.
Jackson has denied any wrongdoing.
