WINTER PARK, Fla. — Nearly two months after a Seminole County woman was found dead in west Orange County, her accused killer has been charged, Winter Park police said.
Scott Edward Nelson faces charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping with a weapon, burglary and carjacking, among other charges, in the death of Jennifer Lynn Fulford, police said.
"Our hearts go out to you, and we are so deeply involved with this, and we care so much for the family and we are trying our best to bring closure to the family," Capt. Pamela Marcum with the Winter Park Police Department said.
Nelson was arrested in October at a Jacksonville motel after surveillance video captured him using Fulford’s ATM card, investigators said.
An arrest warrant on the additional charges was issued Tuesday.

The 56-year-old Altamonte Springs woman was reported missing Sept. 27 after she didn’t show up to her employer’s home in Winter Park. She was employed by Reid Berman and his family. Fulford took care of a child and performed other duties at the home on Webster Avenue.
Nelson remains in federal custody.

The Berman family said in a statement, “We continue to mourn the loss of Jen and find no comfort in learning the details of her final moments. But we are profoundly grateful for the unwavering commitment and hard work of the Winter Park Police and Orange County Sheriff’s departments and for bringing this man to justice. Jennifer Fulford was beloved by many and she is missed every day.”
Police have not released details of Fulford's death.
"We have found no connection between the victim and the suspect at this point," Marcum said.
