SANFORD, Fla. — Police are searching for a man caught on camera who appears to be taking a picture under a woman's skirt at a busy Sanford store.
A woman was shopping in the toy aisle of the Rinehart Road Walmart when she noticed a man crouching down with his arm stretched out toward her dress.
It happened Monday in the middle of the afternoon, police said.
Surveillance Video: Suspected Walmart voyeur
The woman told police she didn't realize what was happening at first.
Police said that through grainy store surveillance video the man is seen near the woman who was shopping for children's toys.
The man is seen kneeling several times near the woman, as if he was tying a shoe.
In the video he is then seen reaching out, beneath the woman with what appears to be a cellphone. He appears to take pictures.
The woman told police that when she looked down and saw him squatting with his the phone in his outstretched arm he left the area.
Shoppers outside the store were surprised by the news.
"He's subjecting women to that? He could subject children as well, you know?" shopper Fontana Louisma told Channel 9's Angela Jacobs.
"That's not something you should do to anyone, man or woman," shopper Stephanie Romeu said. "It's nasty-minded, too."
Much clearer video shows the man exiting the store.
Police said he wore dark shorts and a blue work shirt with an unknown logo.
"This guy has no boundaries, that's ridiculous. He didn't even try to hide the fact of what he was doing," Louisma said.
Police said surveillance video also shows the man driving away in a gold Ford 5-150.
Sanford police said anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the incident should call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
