ORLANDO, Fla. — A man is suffering from paralysis after jumping from a third-floor balcony into a tree, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said Christopher Bastien, 20, attempted the jump early Sunday morning at The Edge apartments while attending a party.
Deputies said they do not think it was a suicide attempt. Authorities said Bastien was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was treated for paralysis from the waist down. He is in stable condition.
