Mayor Dyer announces 'dancing' fountain to happen every night

ORLANDO, Fla.,None — Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer delivered a special announcement early Monday morning.

He wanted to make the announcement while it was still dark, so he could show Orlando residents a new feature coming to Lake Eola, Dyer said to WFTV.

The Lake Eola fountain has been programmed to dance to music, and it will be a regular sight. Every night, a four-minute show will entertain people at 8:00 p.m. and then again at 9:30 p.m.

The hope is that it will regularly draw people to the park to watch the show, Dyer said.

Also, Dyer gave a preview of some of what he'll talk about in his State of the Downtown Orlando Address at noon on Monday. The address will include the announcement of a new mixed-use development that's springboarding off the SunRail project.

Next to the Lynx station will be a $200 million facility, which relies on the new commuter rail stop that will soon be at that bus station.

Dyer's address will happen at the Amway Center.
