WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — Dozens of people attended a memorial event in Winter Garden on Saturday for a CrossFit gym owner who was gunned down while teaching a class.
Richard Millsap, 33, was shot at killed at his gym, CrossFit Mosaic in Winter Garden, on August 12. According to investigators, Millsap was instructing a class when a gunman walked right up to him and opened fire. Police have released a composite sketch of the gunman, but so far no arrests have been made.
On Saturday, dozens of people showed up for a memorial event benefiting Millsap's family. All proceeds from the fundraiser went to Millsap's wife and children, organizers said. The event, which was held until 2 p.m. at Whispering Oaks Elementary, included food, fitness, activities, an auction and raffle.
Family and friends of Millsap said the gym owner was heavily involved in the community and his church. Anyone with information regarding Millsap's death is asked to contact the Winter Garden Police Department.
