ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.

A 56-year-old building in a trendy Orlando neighborhood is slated to meet the wrecking ball.

Property owner Colonial Investments of Orlando LLC plans to demolish 723 N. Mills Ave. — a former 7-Eleven near the intersection of Colonial Drive — and build roughly 8,800 square feet of retail and commercial space there, according to city of Orlando documents obtained by Orlando Business Journal through a public records request.

Anh Chau — whose Orlando-based Asian Florida Investment Inc. owns Colonial Investments of Orlando LLC — wasn’t available for comment. The property was valued at $565,315 in 2019, Orange County records show. Colonial Investments of Orlando LLC bought the roughly 5,400-square-foot building for $750,000 in August 2019. 7-Eleven Inc. was the seller.
