ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported more than 10,000 new COVID-19 cases Saturday as the state surpassed 5,000 total coronavirus-related deaths.
On Saturday, health officials reported 90 deaths. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths is 5,002.
The latest local deaths include 14 in Orange County, 12 in Polk County, eight in Marion County, three in Brevard County, one in Sumter County, one in Volusia County and one in Lake County.
The state also reported an additional 10,328 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of cases statewide to 337,569.

As of Saturday, state health officials reported that 20,632 people are hospitalized with the virus, an increase of 441 from the day before.
So far in the state, health officials reported that nearly 2.6 million tests have come back negative, including another 40,892 on Saturday.
