Clermont city records show that Maitland-based Equinox Development Properties Inc. is behind plans for Clermont West, a 7.1-acre retail development along State Road 50 — just east of its interchange with U.S. Highway 27. The center’s first confirmed restaurant is the popular chain known for its Chicago-style hotdogs and beef sandwiches.

Genny Hall, a senior vice president and partner for Equinox, confirmed the developer’s project and noted it closed on the acquisition of the land July 21. Lake County records show the property traded hands for $6.4 million.
