Video shows man's rampage at WWE facility before being shot by deputies

ORLANDO, Fla. — Surveillance video was released Monday of an Orlando man’s rampage at a WWE performance center this summer before he was shot by an Orange County deputy.

Deputies thought Armando Montalvo, 29, had a knife when he tried to get into the facility on Forsyth Commerce Road.

The video will be used against him in his trial, which is set to start in three months.

Montalvo was said to have had an obsession with a female WWE wrestler and was barred from the facility by an injunction from the property after allegedly making threats and trespassing on repeated visits.

Deputies said he had been there three times.

The newly released video shows him banging on the front door on Aug. 31 and yelling at people inside to let him in.

“I want you to train me to become your best, undisputed NXT wrestler of all (expletive) time,” he said.

At one point, he ripped off a vest he was wearing and ran toward law enforcement, ignoring commands to stop.

The deputy tried to run backward and avoid contact with the suspect.

Ultimately Montalvo’s continues lunge ended the rampage, and the deputy opened fire.

“The subject closed within a few feet and he fired one shot at that time,” said Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings.

Montalvo has since recovered from the single gunshot wound.

He’s facing charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and trespassing. His trial is set to begin Feb. 15.
