ORLANDO, Fla. — With one month left until Florida’s primary election, Democratic candidate for governor, Nikki Fried, is planning a six-figure broadcast ad buy.
According to tracking group Ad Impact, Fried will spend at least $624,220 on the ad buy, which will start on Aug. 15, one week before the primary.
The ads, according to Ad Impact, will be mainly targeted at the Orlando area, with the Orlando market getting roughly one-third of the spend.
Fried, who is currently Florida’s commissioner of agriculture, will face fellow Democrat, Rep. Charlie Crist, in the Aug. 23 Democratic primary. The two candidates held their first and only debate on Thursday night.
Crist has done several smaller ad buys in the last year.
