No repairs made to Cape Canaveral residents' condos nearly 1 month after Irma

Residents of condominiums in Cape Canaveral said there have been no repairs made to their units after Hurricane Irma damaged their homes nearly a month ago.
The 22 units were marked unsafe by the city.
"Devastating. Heartbreaking,” said resident Mary Mangan.“Something has to be done quick.”
For more than three weeks, caved in ceilings, soaked carpets and saturated sheets of drywall have filled the units of Ocean Park North in Cape Canaveral.
We took a lot of pride in our units here and this is what we have left,” Mangan said.
Residents said they cannot make repairs inside of the units until the roofs are repaired by the homeowner's association.

“We are at a standstill. The roof has to be done first and then gut the place,” Mangan said.
It is very frustrating, (and) very upsetting to get no answers and have a lot of questions,” said resident Christopher Mangan.

Property manager, Lori Barrella, told WFTV reporter Roy Ramos that the homeowner’s association is working to meet with the insurance adjuster to cover damages to the roof, drywall, cabinets, doors and windows.
Barrella said it’s taken a long time for the adjuster to come out because they have been overwhelmed.
Help us. Get something done, move,” Mary Mangan said.
The insurance provider, AM Coastal Insurance, said the company was unable to give Ramos information about the claim because of privacy issues.
