Ocala city leaders move forward with tent city for homeless

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Ocala city leaders are moving forward with a project to house homeless people.

Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn met with community leaders Thursday night to ask for help in developing a tent city where the homeless could live.

Guinn is now forming a committee to get the project going.

The mayor has already suggested the area between Northwest Gainesville Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue as a location for the tent city.
