OCALA, Fla. — Three Ocala hairstylists decided to offer free haircuts to residents of the Salvation Army Center of Hope as part of a 'pay it forward' outreach they'd seen on Facebook.
The women, April Kohler-Criswell, Amber Camp and Vanessa McDaniel said the experience was so successful they may do it on a monthly basis. The center's residents were thankful for their kindness.
Reports said the women provided haircuts to more than 20 people on Sunday.
Center director Alice Hodgkins calls the contribution a "blessing."
Resident John Deckard said he felt much more confident about an upcoming job interview thanks to the free haircut.
The women are stylists at the J.C. Penney Hair Salon at Paddock Mall in Ocala.
