OCALA, Fla. — A Marion County family will have to find a new place to live after a tree destroyed their house Friday.
Strong thunderstorms sent a tree through the roof of an Ocala home at the Sherwood Hills subdivision on Southwest 6th Avenue.

The home was a total loss, but the homeowner, who was not identified, said he’s just glad no one was hurt.
“Dogs are safe, the people are safe, everybody’s good,” he said.
Another tree landed on a nearby home.
Other residents said their homes suffered minor damage from debris and tree limbs blown around by the storm.
