Fire crews battled the flames and were able to put the 300-square-foot fire out.
The building that caught fire was a movie theater that's under construction, authorities said.
Authorities said construction workers were welding when insulation caught fire. Workers on the roof had a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the flames, but due to high wind speeds and the height of the fire, they were unable to.
“The preplanning and coordination efforts of all parties resulted in limited damage to a project which is so important to our community” said Fire Chief Dru Driscoll.
Officials said a structural engineer is looking to see if the structural integrity of the building was compromised, but they don't expect any delays in construction.
The 25 workers on the roof were not injured. There were 55 workers on the site at the time of the fire.
The One Daytona project is expected to be completed next year.
