ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County opened a new office Wednesday to help renters and landlords.

The Office of Tenant Services will not only enforce new ordinances but also resolve conflict between the tenets and landlords.
In Orange County and across Central Florida, rents are rising and the need for affordable housing his huge.
But with the snip of a ribbon, help is available for renters.

It’s meant to be a one-stop shop to address issues between renters and landlords, with a focus on outreach and education for both parties.
The office is in the county administration building on South Rosalind Avenue.

This is the second tenant services center in the state, along with Miami- Dade county.

One of those laws they hope to educate people on is the laws associated with the new tenant’s bill of rights that Orange County commissioners approved last month.
The team will also tackle issues with the new rental notice ordinance, and most of the other issues will be referred elsewhere.
Mayor Orange County Demings said the new office will be a place where tenants can get important information about laws and housing.
The office has a staff of four but they could grow depending on how their statistics look after six months.
