Orange County Clerk of Courts has almost 12K unclaimed checks; is one of them yours?

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orange County Clerk’s Office may have some money for you.

The office said there are currently 11,924 unclaimed checks, made up of vendor payments, refunds, restitution, and cash bonds.

These checks were mailed but never cashed in.

If you do not claim your money by Sep. 1, the money will be forfeited and deposited in the Clerk’s Fine and Forfeiture Fund, according to Florida statutes.

“Our customers deserve to receive the money that is rightly theirs,” said Clerk of Courts Tiffany Moore Russell. “That is why every year we go above and beyond to spread the word about our unclaimed checks list.”
