Deputies said they are concerned for the safety of a woman seen on surveillance camera footage possibly being forced out of an Orange County restaurant at gunpoint.
Deputies said the incident happened around noon Tuesday at the Denny’s restaurant on South Orange Avenue near Sand Lake Road.
Surveillance footage from the restaurant appears to show the woman, possibly in her late teens or early 20s, leaving the restaurant under duress. The woman is seen being pushed toward the exit by the man whom deputies said she was with at the restaurant eating lunch.
A witness told deputies the man, described as in his 20s, was holding what appeared to be a small handgun.
Investigators said the woman had been followed into the restroom by the man she was with. Witnesses said they heard yelling coming from the restroom, and when the pair exited, the man was seen pushing the woman toward the front door and grabbing her clothes.
Deputies said the pair left the restaurant in a black, newer model Mercedes-Benz SUV.
Deputies asked anyone who recognizes the pair or has seen them to call 911. They said they want to make sure the woman is OK.
