Court denies motion to remove judge from Markeith Loyd trial

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A motion to remove the judge from the Markeith Loyd trial has been denied.

The state filed a motion asking that judge Leticia Marques be removed from the case.

That motion was denied on Wednesday as “legally insufficient.”

Loyd was found guilty earlier this month of murdering Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton in 2017.
