ORLANDO, Fla. — More Americans are traveling as they get vaccinated and states lift restrictions.
TSA officials said they set a pandemic-era record Friday with the most travelers through checkpoints across the country. Two days later, TSA broke that record with 4,500 more travelers.
The third busiest airport in the country on Sunday was Orlando International Airport.

And it looks like that trend will continue.
OIA officials said it has seen more than 40,000 travelers each day since late March.
Although the numbers were strong this weekend, they are still far off from 2019. However, this is a big step as we swing into travel season.

“We believe it will only get better as we move into the summer months,” Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said.
Airports across the country are reminding travelers to get there two hours before their flight.
Officials said they’re focused on enforcing the federal mask mandate, which was recently extended through Sept. 13.
