ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An 80-year-old man from Mansfield, Ohio, was killed after being struck by an SUV while crossing a street in Orlando, according to a crash report.
The crash happened on Hawaiian Court as a GMC Yukon was exiting a private driveway and turning left onto the roadway. Investigators said the man was walking west across the northbound lane outside of a marked crosswalk when he entered the SUV’s path.
The SUV struck the man, who was taken to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital and later pronounced dead.
The driver was not injured and stayed at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
