Man shot during Orange County motel room invasion, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — One man is recovering after he was shot in the chest during a robbery at a motel early Wednesday morning, according to deputies.

Officials were called out to the 4700 block of North Orange Blossom Trail at the Raceway Motel around 1:20 a.m.

Deputies said that a 53-year-old man was shot in the chest after answering a knock at the door by two suspects.

The two suspects then entered the room and began to demand money from another victim that was in the room, according to deputies.

The suspects took cash and fled the area, officials said.

The 53-year-old man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
