Orlando firefighters rescue man who fell down utility trench

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Fire Department rescued a man who fell 10 feet into a utility access trench at the Orlando Public Library on Central Avenue.

According to fire officials, special equipment called a Stokes basket was used to rescue the patient.

The basket was suspended from an elevated platform and was used to lift the patient out of the trench.

The patient suffered an injury to his leg and was transported to the hospital, fire officials said.
