Throat swab now available at coronavirus testing site in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — In addition to the nasal swabs that have been offered at the coronavirus testing site at the Orange County Convention Center, health officials began administering throat swabs as of Tuesday.

Officials said a total of 328 tests were made available, 250 of which were the new throat swab test and 78 nasal.

Channel 9 learned there isn’t much of a determination on who will get which test, but learned that the tests do go to separate labs.

This site at the convention center has administered 3,200 tests, according to local health officials.

Orange County as a whole has done 7,800 tests.

Officials said about 10% of all tests are coming back positive.
