ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman who was found guilty of killing a 3-year-old boy is set to be sentenced in Orange County on Friday.
In May, a jury found Lakesha Lewis guilty in the murder of Xavier Satchel.

Investigators said she beat him in 2017 for drinking milk from a carton.
Lewis was the girlfriend of the boy’s mother, Brandi Mokarzel, who has already pleaded guilty to child neglect and served three years in prison for her role in the boy’s death.

Lewis’ mother, Callene Barton, has also been charged with first-degree murder. She’s accused of being the one responsible for throwing him.
Barton has been declared incompetent to stand trial pending a state-ordered psychiatric examination, the results of which have been kept confidential.

Sentencing for Lewis is set to begin at 11 a.m.
