Orlando bar owner denies cocaine trafficking allegations

ORLANDO, Fla. — The owner of an Orlando bar is accused of selling more than just drinks and cigars. Investigators say Nora Brooker, the owner of Nora's Sugar Shack, was selling cocaine.

When Channel 9's Jeff Deal asked her about the allegations, she denied everything.

"They found nothing. They looked, they searched," Brooker told Deal after police searched her Orlando home.

Nora's Sugar Shack was a popular beer, wine, and cigar bar near downtown.

In August, police said they caught a man with nearly 300 grams of cocaine leaving the bar. They said he told them he bought the cocaine from Brooker for $8,000 cash.

Brooker wasn't arrested, and she told Deal she never sold cocaine.

"Never, ever, ever, ever, ever," Brooker said.

But police said she admitted buying large amounts of cocaine packaged for resale and said she's been getting it from the same supplier off-and-on for four years.

On Monday, Deal asked Brooker about the police

"No. That was a false statement they made me make so they would leave my house alone," said Brooker.

Police said a lower-level dealer told them he'd been buying cocaine from "Nora" for seven years.

According to police, they found 30 grams of cocaine at Brooker's business. They said they found five firearms, a scale, baggies, and a small amount of pot at her home.

Police said in the search of the home and business, they found $21,000 in cash at her home.

Brooker is facing cocaine trafficking charges. She continues to deny allegations that she sold cocaine.

"You never have?" Deal asked Brooker.

"No. I never have," said Brooker.
