ORLANDO, Fla. — Records show Orlando city commissioner Regina Hill owes thousands in code violations in connection with a home she owns in the Pine Hills area.
Orange County Code Enforcement has fined Hill more than $22,000 for issues at her home on Baywood Avenue.
But Hill told Eyewitness News she only recently learned of the code violations. She's being fined for a broken down car that's parked outside the house, which Hill doesn't live in.
"Unfortunately, I just became aware of it," Hill said. "My son has a car without a tag there."
Code enforcement has ordered the car be removed and fined the commissioner $250 for each day that it stays put.
"$250 a day for a car that isn't worth $250 is pretty extreme," Hill said.
Channel 9 also found out that the home was headed for foreclosure, but the sale was suspended.
"As far as Wells Fargo is concerned, that foreclosure has been suspended," Hill said.
Hill said she plans to take care of the code enforcement fines.
"Hopefully it can be reduced," Hill said. "I will be removing that car."
