ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police want to hear from parents whose children may have had contact with a man arrested on charges of child molestation.
Two children claim he touched them inappropriately in their neighborhood and at the church they all attend.
Police arrested Tertuliano Toledo on Monday after two 11-year-old girls said he touched their breasts at a community pool.
He allegedly reached under their bathing suit tops.
The girls said it also happened at the Mount Zion Church in West Orlando.
“No. Never happened, anything like that inside the church,” said Pastor Eduardo Oliveira.
Oliveira said no one was touched inside the church and said that he’s not taking any sides.
“We’ve been praying for the kids. We pray for the kids,” he said.
Toledo and both of the victims’ families are longtime members of the church.
The parents came to the pastor first, and Oliveira said it never included anything happening on church grounds.
“I think this is kind of a misunderstanding or something like that, But once police were called, you can’t take it back,” Oliveira said.
Toledo is facing charges of lewd and lascivious conduct, along with lewd and lascivious molestation.
Toledo is being held in jail and has asked for a court-appointed attorney.
