Osceola County breaks ground on $7.8M Poinciana pool, fitness center

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Osceola County commissioners and community leaders gathered Sunday morning to break ground on a $7.8 million pool and community center at Vance Harmon Park in Poinciana.

The complex will include an eight-lane competition pool with bleachers and shade structures, officials said.

The community center will include a gym, a fitness room, meeting areas, locker rooms and restrooms.

A fitness trail will be carved around a pond, and lawns will provide areas for outdoor sports and movie screenings.

Plans also call for an outdoor pavilion.

The complex is being constructed at 50 Country Club Road.

It's expected to open in early 2017, the county said.
