MELBOURNE, Fla. — A man and a woman died after their motorcycle was struck by a car Sunday evening in Melbourne, police said.

Officers responded to the crash at Sarno and Croton roads shortly after 6 p.m.

At the scene, investigators said they determined that a Buick sedan had collided with the motorcycle.
Police believe the car was traveling westbound on Sarno Road while the motorcycle was heading eastbound.
Investigators said as both vehicles entered the intersection of Croton Road, the driver of the Buick attempted to turn south in front of the bike.

Police said the driver of the motorcycle, Daniel Revels, 33, of Melbourne, died at the scene; his passenger, Courtney Hamilton, 30, of Malabar, was rushed to Melbourne Regional Medical Center but did not survive.
The driver of the car, 77-year-old Donna Keen, of Melbourne, suffered minor injuries, according to Melbourne Police Department.
Police said the crash investigation is ongoing but noted that drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
