An aggravated assault suspect who barricaded himself Saturday evening in a Kissimmee home was taken into custody without incident, according to the Kissimmee Police Department.
The agency’s SWAT team and its crisis negotiators worked for several hours to convince the man to emerge from the house near Sweetbriar Court and Town and Country Road, a spokeswoman said.
The home’s owner told investigators that the suspect was the only person inside the house and that there were no weapons within the home.
The area around the house was shut down as police negotiated with the suspect, an official said.
The police department has not yet publicly identified the man.
