Man stabs pregnant woman 30 times, tells police 'I'm sorry for all this'

OCALA, Fla. — Police said a pregnant mother and her unborn child are fighting for their lives after the woman was stabbed more than 30 times by her husband’s uncle in Ocala.

Authorities said the victim, Jill Feingold, 40, was in the bedroom of her home on 12th Avenue when the stabbing happened on Monday.

The suspect, Samuel Cone, 59, was seen walking down the driveway toward the road when officers arrived.

According to detectives, Cone told them, "I'm sorry for all this. They took all I had."

Authorities said there was a dispute in the family in reference to a relative's estate.

Channel 9 heard the 911 call in which Feingold told operators she’s been stabbed.

“Who stabbed you?" asked the dispatcher.

“My uncle, Roy Cone,” Feingold said.

Feingold was taken to Gainesville Hospital, where she and her unborn baby remain in critical condition, officers said.

A search of the home was conducted and the weapon, a fillet knife, was found, officers said.

Cone was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder. He is being held in the Marion County Jail without bond.

Authorities said he is currently on suicide watch.

Authorities said Cone has faced three aggravated assault charges and two battery charges since 2000, the most recent an aggravated domestic battery charge.
