Police: St. Cloud man arrested after stabbing daughter with sword

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Police in St. Cloud said a man was arrested after he stabbed his daughter with a sword during an altercation Friday night.

Dispatchers received a 911 call about the incident at a home on Holden Drive around 10 p.m.

According to investigators, a physical fight between the victim and her father, 44-year-old Juan Lovine, led to the stabbing. Lovine was armed with a sword when he stabbed his adult daughter, police said.

The victim, who was stabbed through the arm and into her chest area, was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center. She is listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Lovine was taken to the hospital for an eye injury. He's being charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and domestic violence. Once released from the hospital, police said he'll be booked into the Osceola County jail.

Investigators said Lovine's mother, 74-year-old Isabel Rego, was also arrested during the incident. She was charged with resisting an officer without violence.

The victim's name was not released by police.
