Police: Woman assaulted during robbery in hotel room

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are investigating a robbery at a hotel near the Orlando International Airport.

According to police, a woman called the front desk of the Ramada Suites on Augusta National Drive just after 6:30 a.m. Sunday to report a robbery.

She told police she heard knocking on the door of her hotel room and when she answered, two men barged inside and hit her in the face.

The victim described the robbers as two black men, one armed with a handgun.

Investigators are unsure whether the men left in a vehicle or on foot.

They’re working to gather video from the hotel that may show what happened.

Police say they don’t believe the robbery was a random act.
