Police: Woman shot, killed in Belleview

The man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Marion County woman is in custody after a nearly five-hour manhunt.
It all started after a woman was found shot to death on Southeast Front Road in Belleview Monday morning.
About a half-mile away, police said the suspect crashed, but didn’t get very far.
"It was right after 8 o'clock and I thought somebody was working on the roof,” said resident Bill Glenney.
About a half hour later, Glenney learned the source of those loud bangs he heard from inside his apartment.
”The police officer was walking by and I said, ‘Can you tell me what's happened?’ And he said, ‘No we can't.’ And I said, ‘Well can you tell me is it a fire?’ And he said, ‘No it's a homicide,’” said Glenney.
Police said officers were responding to a call of gunshots and found Sariah Dixon, 19, dead in between two buildings.
Deputies and police began searching for the gunman and issued a community alert.
Two miles away, a car matching the description given by a witness was spotted on Baseline Road, where it crashed.
That's when police said Frank Friday, 20, jumped out of the vehicle and ran while holding a firearm.
The search ended when Friday was caught a few hours later hiding in shrubs behind a home.
Deputies said Friday was uncooperative with SWAT team members and shot himself.
He remains in critical condition at a hospital.
A 2-year-old son was found inside Dixon’s apartment.
The child is staying with relatives.
