POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Polk County corrections officer was arrested Friday on indecent exposure charges.
Deputies said Jerome Hill, a lieutenant with the Polk County Sheriff's Office Department of Detention, was accused of exposing himself at work in front of a female employee.
Investigators said Hill, 44, and the woman worked at the South County Jail.
According to the arrest affidavit, Hill was the woman's supervisor.
According to investigators, Hill contacted the woman during the investigation "in an attempt to influence the witness to not incriminate him."
"I am outraged by this criminal conduct. We hold our agency members to the highest professional standards and to even higher standards for supervisors," Sheriff Grady Judd said in a press release.
Officials said Hill, of Lakeland, has worked as a detention deputy at the sheriff's office for 19 years.
Hill was booked into the Polk County Jail and released after posting a $1,500 bond.
He is charged with indecent exposure in public and tampering in a misdemeanor proceeding. The latter is a felony charge.
Sheriff's officials said Hill resigned his position Friday.
