Port Orange man accused of cutting down Flock cameras

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — A Port Orange man was arrested after deputies say he cut down three Flock cameras in New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the cameras captured 18-year-old Jaden Brooks cutting them down before they went offline.

Deputies say the incidents happened Aug. 4 and Aug. 5. Investigators say Brooks admitted to cutting down the cameras because he disagrees with their purpose.

Brooks was arrested and later bonded out of jail.

He is facing three charges of criminal mischief, according to deputies.

The Flock cameras are designed to capture vehicle information and assist law enforcement with investigations.
