Pulse town hall forum scheduled to discuss permanent memorial

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A town hall will be held in September to discuss plans for a permanent memorial to remember the victims and survivors of the Pulse Nightclub mass shooting.

The shooting June 12, 2016, in which 49 people died and more than 50 others were injured.

Pulse owner Barbara Poma has said she wanted to create a permanent memorial to honor the “angels” but that she wanted the communities’ feedback.

The first town hall meeting will be Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Orlando Repertory Theater, 1001 E. Princeton St. in Orlando. Admission is free, but tickets are required and available here.

An online survey will also be set up on the One Pulse website that people can fill out with their memorial ideas.
