EDGEWATER, Fla. — Edgewater police said human remains found in a wooded area in August are those of missing teenager, Ashlyn Bowman.
Police released results of a DNA test Thursday after the remains were found on Aug. 9 by workers clearing the area in Rotary Park near Pullman Road.
Bowman was 17 when she was reported missing, and was last seen on June 22.
Authorities said the preliminary examination of the body determined it had not been dismembered or burned as originally reported to investigators.
