VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — An inmate in Volusia County never returned to a work release center Friday and is now considered an escapee, according to officials with the Florida Department of Corrections.
Gary Bullock, 24, was supposed to return to the Tomoka Community Release Center on Tiger Bay Road in Daytona Beach at 5 p.m.
Authorities said he reported to work at the Elcaribe Resort on South Atlantic Avenue at 8 a.m. He worked in maintenance at the resort.
Volusia County deputies said Bullock removed his GPS monitor and then never returned to the work release center.
He was on a home confinement program.
Bullock was sentenced to prison in 2010 for multiple charges, including robbery, attempted armed robbery and grand theft.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
